The Project
ZSL London Zoo wanted to create an authentic Indian village and train station to bring Land of the Lions to life and highlight how Asiatic lions live in close proximity to humans in the wild. The designers sourced crates of props from India, and Shippo delivered them safely to Regent’s Park in London.
The exhibit was on a tight timescale as everything needed to be in place before the arrival of the lions.
Props to fill the 2,500sqm exhibit that includes immersive Indian-themed areas, such as a train station, crumbling temple clearing, high street and guard hut, had to be shipped safely in time for the installation.
Shippo ensured that the process was carefully managed from start to finish to ensure that there were no delays.
Why Shippo?
Tom Sears was one of the exhibit’s creators to source the props from Mumbai. “We were in a bit of a race against time to get our delivery from India before the new exhibit opened. Shippo understood how important it was to us and made sure everything got here with plenty of time to install.”
The Land of the Lions exhibit is now open for thousands of visitors to enjoy at the zoo in Regents Park every day.
